I only just heard of this book the other day! I have been so tempted to look at it, but afraid, too. Afraid it won't be quite idiot-proof enough for me...

He's on many writing discussion boards, and is very active. He has a way of explaining aspects of writing and publishing so it's clear as a bell. I don't know how he does it, but he's really good at it. So I wouldn't worry about it not being idiot-proof enough. :)

The third edition was just released this month, and I'm pretty sure many bookstores carry it. So you could flip through it before buying. Your library might even have it too.

Good grief, I sound like a Harold Underdown commercial... :O :)
