100 Books!

I did it! I read one hundred books this year! I read my hundredth book over the weekend while laid up with the flu. Not fun, but I can't think of a better way to pass the time when you're achy and miserable. :)

I managed to consistently read two books a week. Even with two kids, major house problems, agent revisions, and Nano. I am quite proud of myself. :)

I haven't stopped reading, but with the holidays approaching I may only get through a couple more. But who know? I might manage to keep reading two books a week. :)

How about the rest of you? Have you been able to keep up with your reading goals?

That is a great achievement, well done!!!

I only got started reading in June and I'm at 38 though I didn't sign up for any challenges (I'm going to for next year though, reading lots will be my new years resolution!)

Awesome book count!

I've no idea how many I've read...will do a total count up before Dec 31st. I think it might be over 100...

A got into the habit of reading over a hundred books a year when I was teaching. I inhaled YA novels while continually building my classroom library.

Now that I'm writing full-time I am reading less but it's something I want to change. Thanks for reminding me. I feel a two book a week New Year's resolution brewing!

I was hoping to read at least 50 and I'm pretty sure I did as of Nov. I need to check. I think I'll shoot for 100 in 2010!

WOW WOW WOW!!! That is so fantastic!!! How on earth did you do it??? I have the two kiddos, the house to tend to...meals to make, my own writing and editing to do..... I manage some book time at night before bed...maybe an hour if I'm lucky. Sure can't read 2 books a week that way!!

WOOT! You are amazing. I've read, uh, 25. That's almost half of my goal of 52. Yeah, I'm a total slacker. Maybe I'll make up for it over the Christmas break. Maybe not. :)

Congratulations! It seems like it gets harder and harder to find time to read, doesn't it??

I didn't make any particular goals this year, aside from posting reviews of every book and a quarterly update on my blog... and that resolution quickly resulted in me posting five brief points about each book rather than full reviews.

As of today, I'm reading my 113th book this year. Yay for books!

My goal was 50 and I've read 77! Maybe I'll make it through 100 more next year :)

Woot woot!

I just started working on my goal of reading one book each week that I've never read before, and one that I want to re-read. So, two a week. I can usually get in about a book a day, so I don't know how many I actually read in a year...

Anyway, congrats on meeting your goal! :)

WOW! That is awesome. I didn't make a goal, but I definitely have been reading more this year than I have in a long time (since before kids!).
Read on! :)

Whoo hoo for your 100 books! I set the goal for 50 and have read 82, so all in all, a success! I'm setting the goal at 75 next year.

Love your book reviews!

1inseveralbillion - 38 books since June is awesome! That's more than a book a week! :)

Yuna - I'd be surprised if it was less than 100, since you've been on that insane binge of *a book a day*. I bow to you. :)

Paul - two books a week is a good number for me. It gives me time to digest the book, plus doesn't overcrowd my head so there's room for my own books. :) Can't wait to hear about what you're reading next year!

Casey - yay!!! You had a busy year, so that's great! :) :)

Stephanie - I carry books around with me. Whenever I have a spare minute, I get it out and read - standing in line, at the table eating with the kids, waiting for kindergarten to let out, etc. You can get a lot of reading done in those spare minutes. :)

Elana - well, you've had a big year, too, so you're not a slacker. :) I am just insane. :)

Kristopher and Crew - yeah, it is getting harder. There's *always* stuff to do. But reading is important to me, so I squeeze it in whenever there is time. And 113books is awesome! Congrats!! :)

Sherrie - yay!! It's such a great feeling when you surpass your goal, isn't it? :) Can't wait to see what you're reading next year!

Jenna - that's a great goal. I love re-reading my favorites, but I never seem do get to anymore. There's so much new stuff I need to read, and, as a writer, I feel I *need* to read it. Maybe I will alter my goal next year so I can get in some of my favorites. :)

Kelly - yay for books!! And that's great you've been able to read more since having kids. It's amazing how much time they suck up, isn't it? :)

PJ - woohoo!!! I love it when I exceed my goals. Makes me feel all happy about myself. :) That's awesome you're upping your goal for next year. I think I will keep mine the same, and then I will feel extra good about myself if I exceed it. :) (I haven't done any book reviews in a while, have I? I need to fix that...)

Bish - that's awesome!! 43 is a lot of books!! I think it's fantastic that you set yourself a reasonable goal and followed through. Woohoo!!! :)

Congratulations!!! Amazing accomplishment!! ;)

I'm going through this weird phase - I don't like to read anything when I'm actively writing.. It's cutting into my reading.. Urgh. :)

What are you doing to celebrate??

Inkblot said...

Go Tab!! That's AWESOME!

I'm only up to about 38, but that's better than the last two years, so you know :)

Tabitha said...

Keri - I hadn't considered celebrating, but now that you mention it... :)

Inkblot - 38 is a lot of books! That's great! And it's definitely better than zero. :)

I haven't been reading nearly as much as I should, but I'm getting better... slowly...
