Final NANO Update!!

I did it!!!

Yesterday, I crossed the 50k mark and kept going. I ended the day at 55,032, and I only have two more chapters to go in my story. YAY!!!!

Oh, I'm tired. This has been one incredibly exhausting experience. It was good in many ways, though. I learned more about myself as a writer, and I now have the skeleton of an incredibly daunting story that's been haunting me for seven years. I'm so incredibly happy!

At the same time, though, I've also learned that NaNo just isn't for me. I'm glad I did it this year, but I doubt I'll do it again. NaNo doesn't allow for the methodical and organized parts of my brain to get a say in how the manuscript is cranked out, and they're very unhappy with me right now. So I now I have to go back through the story and appease them. But I think I'm going to wait until January...

Right now, I'm going to go collapse in a puddle.

YAY Tabitha! You totally rock! I'm still way back at 18k, but it's still progress. : )

Congratulations! That's so exciting. I'm floundering at 30K, but that's 30K more than I had written on it. :)

Congrats! It's very exciting to have the words down. The start of a hopefully compelling story!

Nicely done. I didn't officially sign up for Nano b/c I wrote 8k about a week before November. HOWEVER, I should be ending about a week early so that's still 50K in a month which is great. I'm almost to 48k right now so I really need to get those last few out and then go back and edit!!!

Whoa! That's some fast writing. What I like best about what you said is that you now have the skeleton of a story you wanted to write for seven years. That's seriously awesome.
I'm at 36K of a story I wanted to write for a couple of years, so I feel pretty good about it, too. I am exhausted but feel like NaNo got me to play harder, smarter.

Way to go! I'll be excited to see it!

Fast writing is for me when the stars align to make it so. And it's not every project.
