I keep getting comments like: "But I thought you said it was finished."
So my new year's resolution is not to tell anyone it's finished.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1401296522737471037.post-26786315486081556152013-01-09T13:02:20.549-06:002013-01-09T13:02:20.549-06:00I don't love to revise, but I will when I am t...I don't love to revise, but I will when I am told. Although the more I learn about editing my own work the easier it becomes. I hate re-reading my stories though. The more I read the more doubt I let seep in. I get not wanting to do it (not everyone likes that step), but flat out refusing to do it is equal to saying your readers aren't worth it. :(Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01052604405996474436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1401296522737471037.post-7534403189216328422013-01-07T12:14:01.613-06:002013-01-07T12:14:01.613-06:00I hate revising. And yet... there is a feeling when you finish a revision like you just described: "This was a lot of hard work and boy is my draft better for it!" And you know there's still so much to do, but you're on the road to a publishable book and that makes it all worthwhile! Problems are easier to fix when it's that far along as opposed to the 'this character's motivation throughout the plot isn't ringing true'-type of comments. Those types of revision notes make me panicky!
D.E. Feeling very good about it. The distance has put me in a new perspective, and I'm hoping this round will be the last before I feel it's ready for the world.

Great post.A.J. Luckily, she liked what I'd already fixed, so I felt a sense of accomplishment and knew we were moving forward. So I'm with you. :)Kelly Hashwayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13936313159809041986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1401296522737471037.post-884588680837377492013-01-07T07:20:33.840-06:002013-01-07T07:20:33.840-06:00Well I do a lot of revising also. Since I'm a plotter, most never find problems with plot, but I have a whole slew of other crap to fix. And no, I don't like revising.LM Prestonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16624508396760965680noreply@blogger.com
