With revisions you can add so much more to polish it. I also find that by letting it sit for months at a time, you come up with even more to enhance it with.PK HREZOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11650153097981426833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1401296522737471037.post-45829438931907258442011-05-10T05:57:53.081-05:002011-05-10T05:57:53.081-05:00Thanks for the book suggestions. I am a greedy reader, especially if the book grabs me, and then I'll hurry to read and will sometimes miss the clues, but not because of the author didn't do their job... Once I started writing, I had and still have to SLOW down when I am reading. Anyway.. thanks for the thoughtful advise.brendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05480258485472568272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1401296522737471037.post-29807773121454100712011-05-09T17:27:50.724-05:002011-05-09T17:27:50.724-05:00Will have to re-read this one. I thought I did ...This is a good thing to remember. I thought I did this really well with my first book, because it was more of a mystery than my second and my betas didn't pick up on my subtle hints. It's a hard balancing act sometimes. You definitely don't want to spell everything out for people, but I think if you place not-so-subtle hints earlier on it works. A good example of this is Harry Potter. JK Rowling did a great job putting in hints, things you would definitely remember, but putting enough pages between to make it not as fresh in your memory. She did a perfect job in my oppinion.Kathryn Packer Robertshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16506942804607936833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1401296522737471037.post-84121671906400049712011-05-09T10:41:47.439-05:002011-05-09T10:41:47.439-05:00Thanks! :)Thanks! :)Tabithahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17420910182752981979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1401296522737471037.post-22903207109780990552011-05-09T10:38:40.657-05:002011-05-09T10:38:40.657-05:00Awesome post!Awesome post!Elisa Danehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10681641110829000372noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1401296522737471037.post-76488130798086365962011-05-09T09:39:26.953-05:002011-05-09T09:39:26.953-05:00Kelly - Tangerine is one of my favorite books. I've found it really helpful to work backwards for many aspects of writing.

Lily - yes! Holes is another great book that kept me guessing.
