He got his stitches out yesterday, and he was such a little trooper! He lay perfectly still, smiling at me the whole time, and let the doctor do what he needed to do. I was so proud of him. AM proud of him. :)

Now, we just need to keep it clean while his ear finishes healing, but the worst is most definitely out of the way.

Thanks again, everyone. We've had a similar-type of experience over the past couple of weeks, so I completely understand. It hurts so much, as a parent, to watch your child in pain ... or being poked with needles. You wish you could just hop right in and take their place. Hope he is healing well, and this will be a much more peaceful week.Kelly H-Yhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07324529762031928328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1401296522737471037.post-63751747306603413532009-07-28T10:40:23.833-05:002009-07-28T10:40:23.833-05:00I can imagine how you must have felt! My daughter ...I can imagine how you must have felt! My daughter struck her head on the edge of a coffee table when she was just a year old. You've probably seen those cartoons where someone gets whacked on the head and a bump immediately results; I'd seen them, at any rate, but I had NO idea this really happened and it scared me silly. It honestly looked like an egg was protruding from her forehead. She turned out to be fine, though she still has a small dent there. Conversely, when our youngest daughter broke her arm, I was convinced that there was nothing wrong with her at first because I could not see it. One thing is for sure: Watching your kids get treated in the ER is a special kind of hell.Mary Witzlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06458299046574564155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1401296522737471037.post-88551102660445549442009-07-27T21:39:07.928-05:002009-07-27T21:39:07.928-05:00*hugs* to both you and your son.*hugs* to both you and your son.Danyelle L.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10366276085080565870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1401296522737471037.post-25965485837561543442009-07-27T21:14:05.184-05:002009-07-27T21:14:05.184-05:00Ouch!!! They put her head in some sort of vise and made me leave the surgery room, which was probably for the best but she suffered and so did I.
I hope he soon forgets the trauma (you, too)Tricia J.
